Good Morning All

I am trying to source a replacement as described above. Mysteriously it shattered without anything hitting it whilst we were in the van. How it happened isn’t important though- replacing it is! Where do I go. The excellent Darren at Brownhills says I should have to replace the whole unit. I want to explore the option of just replacing the shattered window and keep the existing sliding windows. Does anyone have an opinion or better still experience of doing this???

All input gratefully received

Thanks

PS in case it’s not clear which window - it’s the one through which you view the rear view/ wing mirror

Is it a double glazed unit ?
CN glass at Banbury near Oxford fraction of Hymers price.

Depends on age I suppose

Can't help with replacement unfortunately but could an auto glazer make one ?

It’s that one. The part number is 43R-000706. Thanks for helping.

BTW in answer to is it double glazed? The answer is no but it is tempered glass though

I wonder what caused it to break if not hit ?

If you don't have the fixed bed it's easy to remove.

I haven’t spoken to Autoglass, maybe I should. The only reason I haven’t is that I just feel they wouldn’t have it in stock, so they’d have to order it and then N weeks later I would get a message saying they couldn’t find a supplier and I would have wasted so much time - and truthfully I want to get back on the road soon. But maybe I should ditch my prejudices and give them a call - I might be surprised!

I can only think it was a stress fracture. It had been on levelling jacks for 6 weeks in the south of France facing the winter sunlight, we were just about to leave for UK the morning it happened. Drove back to UK with plexiglass taped up by duct tape. It didn’t like the rain, and you can’t open the windows either otherwise it would have blown out. Travelled on RN virtually all the way and kept to 80 km/h
