Hymer B680
Hi Everone,
I am quite fancying a Hymer B 680 it's a Mercedes 3 ltr automatic, and am wondering if anyone has had one, what to look out for if anything. And does it have a belt or chain timing belt. Any advice would be welcome.
Jack.

We have a B690. Identical van apart from island bed instead of 2 singles.

Ours is a 2013 which we’ve had for 5 years.

Apparently it’s a chain drive, and we’ve had no problems with it at all.

A comfortable van for extended periods, plenty of space and solidly built.

The only thing I would say is that the hydraulic levelling system is a must with the Merc chassis!

I take your point about the levelling system I've just sold the comanche with self lavelling and it was great to have it. What is the main issue with it ?, also how do you find the auto box ?

We had one for a very short time, absolutely lovely van, highly recommended.
Gearbox was excellent, seamless gear change.

The one I have my eye on is a 2013 model without levelling jacks, it's done 29 thousand miles and the asking price is Circa £60K is that about right ?

We sold our Hymer 2014 680s for £72k privately in April this year so sounds like a good price.
You need to look at tyres as there is six and batteries as ours had three leisure and engine battery.
Mercedes repairs can be expensive but some parts are very reasonable.
Expect to achieve about 22mpg or less if your in a hurry.
Check double glazed windows for moisture between glass as they are very expensive.

we recently sold ours. I have a beautiful set of silver screen winter blinds for one if you go ahead.

Was a great van to be fair.
