Just looking....
I am viewing a 2000 Hymer B544 (Fiat Ducato 2.8l). Could anyone advice me of its weight please ?

Thanks

Depending on light of heavy chassis, light 3500 kg, or heavy 4250 kg.
But a light chassis could have been uprated to 3850 or more.
Very difficult to run at 3500 legally.

put the reg in here
Cartaxcheck
that should tell you what it is plated at, from Lenny reply you will see if it is then a light or heavy chassis

If you are wanting to find out the payload you will need to get it weighed on a weigh bridge.
Payload = Registered weight (from V5C) - Weight from weigh bridge

Motorhomes never weigh what was shown on the original sales blurb.

Hi
Thanks both. The Tax is £325 so I suppose the weight is 3,500Kg or less.
I ask as my other half & myself both have grandfather rights on our licences, but my daughter doesn't (she passed her test in 2014) so I assume she will need to do an upgrade course to her licence.

If I could ask, Lenny, what do you mean by "difficult to run at 3500 legally" ?

Thanks

Our first motorhome was a Hymer B544 SL on a light chassis so weighing in at 3500 kgs. It had a double floor and we never had a problem keeping it to its weight limit, we took it to a weigh bridge a couple of times fully loaded. It was small and I loved it. If you buy it, I wish you many miles of happy travelling in it.

That it probably won't have much payload, it really depend on what extras have been fitted. Only way of knowing is to get it on a Weighbridge also important to check the rear axle loading as on the light chassis it's only 2000kg.

6m van with no garage. How much payload do you need? Ok, it might be an issue if you cram 5 people in it. But it's plenty for a couple. Or did they build them out of oak 'n' iron back then?

They were pretty solid all cabinet doors solid wood, weight and construction varies on year some have Fiat chassis some on Al-Ko which are 50 kg heavier also length varies between 5.99 to 6.5m. Most people uprate the 544 on the light chassis.

Our 2001 B584 on a Fiat chassis on 16” wheels was 3500kg but I had it increased to 3850kg as a paperwork exercise through Hymer Germany( train weight stays the same so you do lose some towing weight)
