Hi All and happy festive season!
Trying to repair storage door which is leaking due to bad seals. Have got hold of seals/ brushes but cant take apart aluminium surround so I can replace the inner ply which is rotten. Have removed screws but cant pull apart the surround. Any ideas?
Thanks Gareth
Those two screws fix into a small steel plate that bridges the join of the aluminium trim, you need to knock the piece of metal sideways until it clears the join, then gently unfold the aluminium trim away from the plywood.
The inner ply is bonded to the inner insulation core of the door. I suggest you make up an area to clamp the door square as the glue dries on reassembly. I have used the corner of the garage at home, wedge the door in with concrete blocks on the floor pinning it to the walls. It will save a lot of issues later on. It will have a tendancy to twist
