Have just got a Hymer van and the pipe under the bathroom sink is not connected to the waste pipe. Water just gushes out. It’s on a swing wall that converts to shower cubicle. Is it supposed to be connected or is it one that should join when the wall is put back? Can just about get my hand under there but not much room and not much pipe length to fit onto sink outlet.
I can see that the pipe goes behind the plastic material that’s like the hinge, anyway to remove that without making any damage?
Any advice gratefully received 😎

From memory, the pipe goes from the sink down to the bottom of the swing wall. There is a gap and the water basically falls to the drain below. Hymer were fitting a flow restrictor, basically a rubber insert that looke like a polo mint shape, up the pipe at the bottom to stop it gushing over when the downflow exceeded the capacity of the drain flow.

I've not seen one. But does that mean that if the wall isn't fully clipped back and you drain the sink, it'll just drop the water into the shower tray?

No it goes into a hollow bowl thing with a hole in it and depending on the angle of the van runs down the side then onto the floor. I’ll post a pic 🤞

Does this help? Not sure I’m describing it very well. IMG_6632.jpeg-Broken Link Removed-

IMG_6630.jpeg Not great at this technology lark. This is inside the hole under the basin.

Those two bits should be joined. Probably just pushed together with a bit of glue, or sealer, which looks like that was the previous way.
