This new wifi unit was fitted in our van and I haven't the foggiest idea how to set it up, I have looked at it for hours, trawling on line too and nothing makes sense, can someone help please. I have an ee sim - using abroad also. The box which holds the sim is a small white box.

You need to down load the Hauwei app you can then set your settings😆

I use my iPad and it’s also on my phone, this is the apple app below.

The Huawei app will find your router if you’re on the device’s WiFi.

What is not working for you?
When powered up, does your device show connection to a cellular network?
Network name.
SSID name and pin (blanked out in the screenshot).

Edit: saw a typo/grammar thing

Pressing “menu” twice, and then the power button gets you to the device info.
There you’ll get the IP address of the router.
Can you connect to that in a connected device’s browser (or connect with the app)?

Not yet set up, hubby dealing with it, out with dog at moment in the rain. Battery flat so charging at moment. We’re just not very good with these things, it does our head in, probably not the only one - I hope

Will probably try tomorrow now, awaiting all info from all you helpful people out there

Once the app is downloaded it will connect to your HUAWEI, it will then ask for the password which is the Wi-Fi password which will be written on the router you’ll then be able get to set it up.

They need to get the device with the Huawei app installed on connected to the router first though, right?

A Huawei QS guide:

Nearly done, but not sure how to change Wi-Fi password (key)

You can only stop displaying the key via the router’s user interface.
To change the password you’ll need to either: -
A) goto “WiFi settings” via the Huawei app
Or
B) goto the router’s web browser user interface and alter the key via the WLAN area of the settings.

Now sorted, I think, just have to go away to try it out
