Had my alarm trigger probably down to a mouse last night (no intruders to van, no signs of entry) so we took the time when inspecting van to bring it home 2 days earlier than planned to heat up, recomission the water systems etc. We want to obviously make the van smell very "doggy" by having our dog in it to deter mice now given the former.

Just wondered how long the van will stay warm as we may do a pub stop one evening this week and didn't want to burn loads of gas doing so -> any experience -> as it's obviously the full warm (which we are doing now along with chilling the fridge) to take off the winter chills that will use the most of the electrical supply, and all the pubs round here have no EHU obviously so we'll need to be offgrid for first time in winter.

Took 6 hours on 2kw truma heat to recomission so far, and it looks now to be maintaining fine with almost 0 electrical draw.

Just wanting some feedback really -> as if it's not going to cool (much) in an evening away from home we'll do a pubstop for sure on the gas this week before our winter trip away. (We're at home for the remaining deliverys of presents and to tidy the house (but not the motorhome) so we have a tidy house to return to after our winter break. (I'm going to use the smart meter tonight to monitor the heat loss...)

Depends on the van and the heating system, we went away in our van this weekend. Didn’t preheat it just used cab heater while driving which took the chill off, we parked at a pub so no EHU, turned the ALDE heating on to 20 for day time setting and 12 for night time. The van never got down to 12 both nights.

Retention of heat is also very much affected by the outside temperature.

Here, the temperature outside of the motohome is currently 11.9'C so not really a good day to answer your question.

The temperature inside is 12.9'C and has been a degree or so above outside for days without using any energy.

The cost of keeping it at 10'C is normally minimal.

I think it's going to depend a lot on the weather. If it's windy and cold I think the MH is going to cool pretty quickly due to all the gas drop vents.

Our PVC (LWB High Roof VW T6) is smaller than your Bailey but with insulated screens on the windows we calculate the when shut down two of us in the van we maintain about 6 degrees C above outside ambient temperature. We set the Eberspacher heating at 16 degrees and are always comfortable over night.
Our new camper is a LWB MAN TGE (google it) with a Truma 4E and that seems to provide similar temperature control in a similar situation. The first night that we used it the outside ambient dropped to -5 degrees C whilst we were parked at Fromebridge Mill a couple of weeks ago and everything worked well with the Truma set at 15 degrees C.
