How to use my toilet, yes really!

Oh god - I didn’t know you were supposed to leave the flap open when using it - I have been doing it with the flap shut and then opening it, then flushing, then closing............

Take deep breaths and breathe............panic ended..........

Ps don’t tell my hubby as just asked him and he said as the OP instructed otherwise it could smell:unsure::whistle:
Me too, I was told to leave the flap closed and add water, do your business, open flap to release and close again, going to have to pick up courage to let it all hang out with flap open, hope I can do it.

I do find that if a flush is necessary the shower head is much more effective than the actual flush.
And if not needed, a quick spray with a bottle containing some pink is sufficient. If I were to flush, then do the business, then flush again, my cassette would be full in no time.

Whilst we are on the subject, who wears gloves when emptying the cassette. I don’t, as a retired plumber I’ve had my hands in worse. It just makes me smile seeing blokes with Marigolds on walking to the Elsa dump:):):):)

Quite. I've stripped and cleared no end of blocked charter yacht loos when skippering. On my knees in a tiny space, often wallowing around or at 25 degrees of heel. Bits of Lego and toothpaste tube caps were the least unsavoury culprits.

You cannot have the rule on charter boats, but on my private one the rule was the one who blocks it clears it.

Trouble with this theory is who used it last? Ok with only two of you but otherwise it was not me!

The upside for me was no one wanted me to prepare any food or wash up :)

Strangely, if people followed the instructions their toilets would be practically unusable. They suggest putting a litre of water in before use, then flushing before and after. You wouldn't need their stinky blue stuff as it would need emptying several times a day.

One of the reasons I do not like the new trend for separate shower and toilet compartments.

The others are that they take up more floor space, so MH has to be longer or lose kitchen/living space, and unnecessary for a couple who can share one combined unit at home.
