The roof of my van has a (bad) design so that in the centre upto a litre or so of water collects in it when it rains.

This means as soon as i drive it all comes over the side and runs down the windows etc.... annoying when you forget and it's a hot day and you put the window down.

Anyhow, how to fill it? It's quite a large area so fibreglass the whole thing would weigh and cost a load.
I tried sticking a plastic sheet over it and then sikaflexing the sides but that's failed and the water gets trapped inside

No leak inside, but i don't want the sitting water to slowly eat away at the roof

I presume this is mainly an issue when you are parked up at home and setting off for the first time on a trip? The best way to deal with it there is to park on ramps to cause the water to drain off.

If you are on about when you are on a trip, then sorry can't help other than suggest you make a sharp manoeuvre before you wind the window down :p

I certainly wouldn't try to fill it though.

On the storage site many owners park up using their levellers, to unlevel their roof.

Each parking spot is marked at the front with a 'sausage' kerb so I just park up with the front wheels on top of the kerb, that's enough to drain the roof.

A number of motorhome models suffer from this, including ours, and there's only two effective solutions and noted above.
Either park it off the level so the water drains off or remember not to open the window when first moving off.

Have you considered fitting some Fiamma drip stop guttering on the roof or over the window to divert/control the water flow?

I always store ours on the drive at home with the front up on highest step of levellers so that roof is sloping.
