Ive got the typical cabinets around 60cm x 25cm and 18mm semi sandwich panel material.
I want to fit a single gas strut to each door. Ive bought 80N ones but its a real effort using my hands to squash them down and Im wondering whether to return them or keep them. I want the doors to open and close easily with as minimal force as possible

Wondering what strength recommended?

Fit some surface mount spring hinges they will keep door open easily and close easily available at Screwfix 👍😊

Agree with Alan most vans use sprung hinges with soft close.
Getting the right pressure struts will be a pain and not necessary.

Do the struts have an Allan key hole, by opening it very carefully you can reduce the pressure. If that works be careful not to release all the pressure or they become useless.

Thanks for that, I had never considered that before.
However my concern would be that the doors would then open like A and not like B which would mean I would have to squat down each time to look inside. Is that right?
