How is an awning defined on a campsite.

According to most councils site license conditions there must be 6 m clear if the awning is to be used for sleeping in having been a license holder for a number of years it always causes confusion.
understandable if the awning was used at sleep accommodation, but i wouldnt think that was a normal occurrence surely? There was a diagram from the CCC or CAMC handbook in the video i was watching earlier showing the 6m was between cavaran/motorhome wall to caravan/motorhome wall, irrespective of anything in between.
Unless it was an old video and the regs have been updated since?

68c I have personally checked this out with the now CAMC back in 2012 & am pretty certain the rules still stand. A Motorhome can use their canopy on a non awning pitch as it is not classed as an awning so long as it is not added to to make it an enclosed caravan type awning. I seem to think the warden may have suggested it should not be left out all the time i.e. 24 hours
