All the gear, and no idea!
As per title, how do you wash your motorhome with a hosepipe ban in force? The response from the water company is “well we need the water for more important things like drinking, washing etc”
I get that, but I can take it down the road and let some foreign guys wash it using water out of the same mains pipe providing I pay them some money🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤯🤯. That to me is NOT saving the water to use for drinking and washing!!🤷‍♂️
I AM on a meter btw
Better buy a watering can and a big bucket😉😁 (which I’m guessing chucking buckets of water (which IS allowed) haphazardly to rinse it off will use more water than the hosepipe with a trigger gun that can be directed in the right places🤷‍♂️
Rant over😁

Infrequently!

But in answer to the op the foreign guys down the road are a business and there are then different rules also the main reason I suspect for a ban is the people who leave a garden sprinkler on for ages. You could rule out hosepipes for one thing and not another then they'd park next to the garden and accidentally water it!

Never used a hosepipe we use a telescopic brush and buckets of water, starts off with a wash and wax in the water and then finish off with a rinse with a caravan type cleaner in the water or something similar.
For tight areas I use a hand glove mop, which works very well..

I've used one of those 12v "Pressure Washers" in a bucket (or four) of water, one bucket to soak, one to apply foam soap, another with a wash mit, and then the last to rinse, does an alright job. I spent the day early on this year doing a full carnauba wax polish which was hard work but has paid off as the water is still beading off nicely!

Hosepipe ban at the end of September?
Not had any bans down here all year and it's been drier than up there.

Just been on local news if we don’t have a wet winter, the ban will last well in to 2023🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I’m washing it well before then let me tell you😤

What! With all those lakes & resoviors up there there they are taking the p***
In Fairness lenny you’ve got a bloody big stream running between you and France :rofl:

Re hosepipe bans, there are 2 major water leaks in our village, have been leaking since jan/ feb this year.
Water company says it will get repaired in due course.
Meanwhile they tell us to use water responsibly.🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I always wait until it rains before I get my brush out. My excuse is that it's better with soft rainwater as I live in a hard water area and it's more environmentally friendly but, in truth, I'm just lazy and as long as the mechanics are okay, I can live with it. :giggle:

I've washed our vehicles in the rain before to me it's likely to work better as the grit will get rinsed straight off but I have had some funny looks

We collect rain water from the roof of out buildings and use that, I connect a small pressure washer to rinse on low pressure, works a treat and leaves no water marks.

One more reason to choose the optional FIAT's Aluminium Grey colour instead of white. It doesn't show the dirt.

Mine hasn’t been washed since April of last year - apart from windows and the solar panel the latter I had to bribe my husband to do.
You dirty girl, wash mine before and after nearly every trip. Polish and then wax it twice a year.

That’s fine if you physically can but my shoulder impingement (and other events) more than a bit restricting. I won’t let the car wash lads near it with their pressure washers, I would rather it went dirty.

It doesn't do me a lot of good often in pain for a few days after polishing & waxing.

Pressure wash the grit off at a distance (avoiding seals and vents) snow foam, leave for 5 mins, two buckets with grit guards in, telescopic soft brush, rinse off and micro towel dry. 👍

Strangely enough my wife's shoulder stops her washing the vehicles but not playing tennis!
You can play tennis with one good shoulder, but I find hanging on the ladder whilst operating a long handled brush requires two! 🤣
