How do you get leaves and muck out of your roof light fly screen?
It’s on a very strong spring and of course the leaves have gathered at the wrong end!!!

I, probably wrongly, blow / flick them to the opening end then reach in.

The other day I got on the roof with the vent fully open and reached in a pulled a few pine twigs out that had blown in.

To give a proper clean, I removed the blind , it is an easy job...depending on make, they either just pull off or have fixing screws

Get a vacuum cleaner hose with good suction to it. Suck the Debri from underneath the mesh and slowly move it across to the opener. Once there, gently remove the pipe so as not to disturb the debri, then vacuum from above the opener.

It works every time for me. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Thanks for the advice I used the blow and flick method as we didn’t have electricity and I couldn’t get on the roof.
There was a wild lightning storm last night our van was rocking from side to side in Norlingen Germany and all that lot blew in whilst I was shutting the roof light

Not long ago, red hot Saturday at home on drive so mains power NP, whilst son in law was cleaning the Moho roof, whch he had volunteered to do, Pete asked him if he could try vacuuming the roof side of the bug screen which he did and it did make a difference. But they both reckoned the 'netting' was rather mucky (in use 10 years, how wouldn't it be!) so with a clean sponge and warm water with a bit of washing up liquid in and being careful, not knowing what effect this would have - it was cleaned. Not mentioned to me until we went to Cambs the other week and OMG - OMO white!!!!
