Hi folks, after the winter drain down and you’re refilling the motorhome water system is there any specific way you bleed the air out? I’ve obviously done this a few times and wondered if I should do it differently. I close the boiler drain valve and sink taps then refill the water tank. Then turn on the pump which takes a few moments to pressure the system, then I start turning on the taps to get the air out. Should I do something different like have the taps open when I turn on the pump? Just wondering what you guys do as I’ve never been shown and maybe I’m doing it wrong?

I just fill up tank and then turn taps on until the Shurflo pump is just pumping water and has stopped ‘burping’ air through taps. I do it to both kitchen, bathroom taps and the toilet which has direct water feed to flush. Making sure I turn the mixer tap to hot as well to fill up hot water heater.

You are doing it just fine:clap2:

In winter I open the water drain valve and the boiler drain valve. I open all the taps and leave them open
Come spring I close both drain valves and reset the boiler frost stat that has always popped out.
Refill the tank and turn on the water, because the tap are still open water starts coming out immediately.
I turn the taps to fully hot and wait until the boiler is full and water is coming out the hot tap.

Simples :drinks:

With the pump running against closed taps your just making compressed air. As said, shut drains, fill tank and pump with open taps 👍

Thanks Badknee , so turn pump on keep taps open and bleed. I kind of thought I was doing it wrong.

I avoid all the above by never draining my systems...

I move to the Algarve at the appropriate time.

Thank you all for your advice, I’ll take it on board but unfortunately can’t move to the Algarve just yet.
