Last year I had my 16 year old MH " rejuvenated". It was looking rather dull, but came up wonderfully. Since then I have just been washing it with mild car shampoo and it's still clean and shiny.

What do I need to do to maintain it long-term? Do I polish it again, or just add more wax?

I don't want to embark on ceramic coating.

I have just bought a DAS-6 DA polisher, mainly to try and enhance the gel coat on my 42 year old GRP boat. If I use on the van, I will be very careful!
Should I use it to apply wax, or is it best done by hand?

If its still shiny it doesn't need polished again ...just a liberal coat of wax every six months or so.

Only polish if it's dull , everytime you polish it removes a thin layer . You can use the polisher to remove the wax but I'd apply it by hand

This stuff is ok, really easy to wipe on and off and lasts quite a while…

Bang on.I tested this on my daily driver for 6 months and now use it on all my vehicles.Needs reapplying occassionally but quick and easy and a fraction of the cost of ceramic coating

I've just ceramic coated my van, I found it far easier than polishing and waxing but the van is fairly new.

If you are going to wax you can't really wax straight on top of the old wax. You need to remove the road grime first by either polishing it first using a polish with only a fine cutting or clay bar it.

I've been looking online - what sort of pad should I use to remove the wax?
A sheepskin polishing bonnet.

I polished and waxed my 20 year old van last September... Still nice and shiny.

I'm tempted to ceramic coat it but will never achieve anywhere near the results you'd get with a much younger van.

It that instead of wax, or in addition?

I polished the van with autoglm resin polish then put the turtle ceramic on, I think you can put it on when the van is waxed too… the ceramic just brings out the shine and protects it and gives it a beading affect when it rains…
