I wouldn’t call it silent. Having had people use these near me. Agree for someone who actually needs them for medical reasons I can put up with it.

However with extra leisure battery and solar we have managed without and use tv for maybe 3/4 hours a night.

A caravan non motorised decided to park about 15 feet from my van with tow car in between on an empty 2 acre cl.
He had his car on tick over for 20 mins before they decided to move every day weird people .
I have a built in genny that to be honest is not needed looking a the p work in the van it was fitted for the aircon thats only been used twice in anger in two years . The genny has been worth its fitting in other times , as a full eh hem i should say long termer its been invaluable now and again when its been a life saver to us and others had a few cables in wild spots charging some other vans who never grumbled about noise. In the winter i should say . The cold brings van folks closer maybe.

Cheap genny is what i meant to say , should sell easy .

I agree with @wigster. I have one, which I bought on this very forum a couple of years ago. When used with others nearby, not often and in France, people have been complimentary and the "noise" level is very low.

My use is infrequent and as a rule when alone. On this trip I mistakenly left my little cigarette lighter plug in inverter behind so am only able to charge my lap top battery using the generator. My solar and leisure batteries are covering everything very adequately. I have up until now been what is described as a "FLT" on other threads.

At that price a bargain - I paid nearly twice as much for mine (though it was unused).

The real thing to consider is wind direction if among others to avoid drifting exhaust fumes across them.

Ideal for someone who wants to try out wild camping or rallying. They can see how much power they would need, and if rallying etc is not for them and they prefer campsites. They can sell the generator and hardly lose any money, where if they splashed out on solar , batteries, inverters etc they would not get much of their money back if rallying was not for them.

Please don’t make this a us against generator posts, it’s a for sale add. If you want to buy great. I had solar and extra batteries and never had to use this but the fact it was there was reassuring at times.

Just like a stereo you have to use it sensibly. If you turn a stereo up you’ll annoy people. If you run a generator 3 ft from your neighbour same thing
