My insurance provider (Lloyds) has recently changed their policy from 93 days unoccupied to 60 days. All of the alternative companies I have tried only provide cover up to 60 days. As we like to stay in Spain from January till March, our home insurance has become an issue.
Has anyone managed to resolve this issue?

Our insurance is due for renewal at the end of the month, I did a search on money saving expert and put in 90 days. Their best was Admiral, I also got a quote from M&S who include 90 days as standard, there wasn’t much difference in price.

I think provided you have someone check in regularly the insurers will be happy
Yes, that's how we have managed the situation in the past. However, that would be someone checking the property for the period of the unoccupancy, which is 60 days.
I think that I would like to talk to a company representative, which isn't easy these days.

I did exactly the same, and Admiral gave a favourable quote. However, even though I input 90 days, the policy details still stated 60 days 🙄

Thanks for that, I hadn’t noticed as I’d decided to go with M&S but still good to know.

M&S looks to be my favourite so far. I will decide in a few days 🤔

Did Halifax quote for 60-90 days unoccupied? Curious because they were cheapest on the meerkat site for us with 30 days unoccupied and (seemingly) a good level of cover.

Yes. Rang them. They said as long as the heating was on and someone reliable checked the house every week they would cover.

That's intriguing, thier policy states that the gas supply has to be turned off. Also, when I spoke to them, they didn't offer me any other option than to cancel the policy, which I did, and I am now insured with M&S
