Probably a long shot but anyone wanting to meet up in either the aire at Hawick or Jedburgh to celebrate new year, local pubs within walking distance.
Whats happening there? We're up at Moffat for a few days and celebrating New Years Eve.
Very true but theres gotta be somewhere the locals all go.Many pubs close early on Hogmanay to let staff go home for the midnight hour!
We're staying on the campsite CCC . We've actually got hook up , which is a rareity !Whats happening there?
Sounds fab. Pity, we aren't ccc members and don't think we would use it much to join just for 1 night. Sounds right up my street too. Hope you enjoy .We're staying on the campsite CCC . We've actually got hook up , which is a rareity !
In Moffat people generally start to appear in the various hotels and bars around the High Street about 10.00pm in preparation for the 'bells' at midnight. As the time approaches about five hundred to a thousand people gather in the high street. The atmosphere is always very good humoured. There is a piper/pipers in the square as well as fireworks to welcome the New Year. The celebrations and first footing continue well into the early hours and beyond.
But we're booked into Brodies With all the locals for a meal , Till 10.pm then it's all over to the hall for some Scottish Dancing, a band, then fireworks and bringing in the new year then back to the bar. Its a posh frock and suit do. If your Scottish an excuse to wear a kilt! There's only us and another couple who aren't local. But we've been assured we'll be made welcome. Looking forward to it.
Sounds temping but too soon to say yet. Last year we ended up with a couple of funster vans on our drive.Probably a long shot but anyone wanting to meet up in either the aire at Hawick or Jedburgh to celebrate new year, local pubs within walking distance.
