Greetings from a sunny, but cold Mersea Island. No snow here, but everything is still rather 'white'! -6 overnight.

The lovely Gail gave us mulled wine around a BBQ early last evening before we all adjourned to the bar to await the food from the building next door. Gail kept us all informed on queue length and when it had suitably subsided, we gallant men sent the fairer sex to get their food first. This show of chilvalry with 'Ladies first' paid dividends as they arrived back with our portions as well. Anyone would think we planned it that way!:Rofl1:

Glad your all having Fun. :thumb: We had a great time last year, had to do the family thing this year.  Bob and Jane.

Really pleased that all is going well.... warmth of friendship obviously far outshining the cold.... Love to Gail and so sorry missing it all...

They're not, if you had gone the oven would have exploded and the kitchen wall collapsed.

Just arrived home from Mersea Island

Although temperatures were a lot cooler than last year, there was no rain and hardly any wind.

Friday evening we had mulled wine meet and greet followed by a fabulous and reasonably priced meal in their restaurant. It was so nice not to have to cook.

Saturday was relaxing and enjoyable during which some funsters enjoyed games of pool, lovely walk on the beach with some of the funsters, drinks in the bar.

One brave funster even went paddling in the sea.

Jaws and his family saved the evening by finding some charcoal for the barbeque so we had a nice warm fire to barbeque the mulled wine on.

The evening started with mulled wine and snacks in the sink area and then the funsters went to the entertainment bars. For those of you who went last year you know it was busy. This year it was "too close for comfort" as there were so many more people, although not so many wore fancy dress.

Very wisely the funsters decided comfortable seats all together in the quiet bar were a much better option and although we had to get our own main course management were kind enough to serve our desserts at our tables which was greatly appreciated and saved on queueing.

We reckon the only reason we didnt have snow (much to James and Roberts disappointment ) is because we took the toboggans with us.

NOW we DO have a mystery !!!!

You have all heard of crop circles. When we woke up this morning between two motorhomes there was a very large funster smiley carved out in the car park shingle. Certainly someone was smiling down on us weather wise.

Although it was not a large meet it really was a lovely meet, beautiful people, good conversation, well behaved children.

We hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did and that you all have had a safe and uneventful journey home.

Thank you so much for attending the meet we look forward to seeing you all again at some point next year.

We have taken a few photos and will let you know when they have been uploaded

Gail and Tony came up with the idea of the barby as a heat source while they plied us with hot red wine and plate loads of nibbles :thumb:

The hog roast was errrr... a tad bigger shall we say

BTW, just to prove we had a PROPER weekend at the seaside, I went paddling... twice !
Tis true :thumb:

I have emailed Jim asking him to add the Hogroast meet to the rally photo gallery so funster can add their photos.

Sadly not all of mine came out well however here are two of my favourites
