Anyone know if any of the many 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Highland Games (between now and mid August) have 'on-site' camping?

Hoping the collective/hive brain 🧠 of MotorhomeFunsters will be quicker than googling/trawling individual sites. (y)

Try

"Dodging the local complainers on the NC 500"
Thankfully, despite the name, most Highland Games are nowhere near the overhyped/underfunded, not-to-be-missed/to-be-avoided-at-all-costs NC500 route :giggle:

Think I'll stick to finding quiet spots for myself in all the other glorious parts of the country...

Not sure dates but they have one in Luss and the campsite is only a 10 minute walk away.

They also have a big one in Dunoon and I’m sure a campsite is close by.

Here’s a link to this years games which might provide the info.

Thanks.

Missed Luss & Dunoon (Cowal) will be too late for me this year. :(

I'm surprised that camping provision doesn't seem to feature in any of the Games - seems like an ideal opportunity to attract larger audience and gain a bit of extra revenue.

eight years in theory, a newby in practice!!!
Try Ballater Highland Games 15th August, great campsite in the town, but you may have left it a bit late.
Royalty often attend as it's close to Balmoral (y)

Lonach Games is 24th August. Basic camping onsite, although the field is a wee bit rutty.
Be prepared to be woken early by the piper walking the camping field .
And hear the cries of 'Ho Ho Lonach'

Billy Connolly was a local who used to attend, along with friends such as Dame Judi Dench and Sean Connery. Robin Williams ran in the hill race.

We are really desperate to be able to visit Scotland and to be able to see the 'Games'... my parents were from Sotland, however, from what I'm hearing on this site, perhaps we are better not trying......... I have a 300mile trip before I even get to the border, so, " I will not travel all that way to be then told I'm not welcome F...k em.... we should just not bother.
