Chausson 711
Hi there

I’m hoping someone might know the answer to this. We have a Chausson 711. We have found some high readings on our damp meter above the two hab doors and the rear windows. We have been told (on another forum) that this may be due to metal fixings behind the wall. We were wondering if this might be the case due to the drop down beds. We had a mobile motorhome guy take a quick look, and he was really perplexed by the readings and where they were situated and his thought was that it could be metal fixings also. There are no signs or smell of any damp at all.

If anyone could shed any light would be most appreciated. Thank you.

I have a 2020 Chausson 711 which is going in November for warranty work for water ingress above/side of nearside Hab door and bottom of garage door. Both are known and common issues apparently according to our Chausson dealer. Indeed, during my last visit to have the situation monitored, there were two Chaussons in the workshop having both these issues repaired under warranty. They were younger models than mine too,

Thanks, I suspect we may have a damp problem :(

If there is metal there then it will give a false reading.
Yes we are trying to find out if anyone knows if there is any metal behind the walls as that might explain the readings

The locations sound like water ingress. the windows would need to be removed ,sealant removed and resealed before refitting a simple job for those used to doing it. door the same. Damage wise if the ply and framing on body is sound not a problem .
But not having seen it cant really comment on damage long term

Had 2 previous chaussons both had damp issues from new ! Loved the layout and contemporary finish , but couldn’t live with the damp ! Both went in for repair under warranty but neither was successful! They had to go !(n):cautious:

It’s no surprise to me that the damp issues are known, when I had my chausson I asked if they had seen the problem I had ,before ,the technician said to me they are all like it !
What an admission that is to make . :cautious:
