Hi have a autotrail if the leisure batterys go low dose it affect the indicators and rear lights

Can Any one help

All vehicle lights should be running off your engine battery but there again potterers do weird things to vans. Just think old geezers with too much time on their hands who think they know better than the manufacturers

Your leisure battery operates the internal stuff in the van, lights etc. It does not affect the operation of the vehicle itself ie the engine, external lights, indicators. These are operated by the vehicle battery, normally under the bonnet.

What is not working properly on your van?

Many of the Autotrail systems, such as that on my PVC, allow selection for the habitation use, of either the leisure battery or the engine battery. The latter would be intended for backup emergency use, but if the engine battery were selected then you'd have a good risk of not being able to start the engine, use indicators or whatever. Check the correct battery has been selected on the control panel.

Might be two separate problems. Leisure battery might be knackered. How old is it? Have you looked after it,kept it charged up?

Have you had anything done on the van recently, maybe something not wired up properly?

Im sure some leccie expert will be along soon…. Lenny HB ?

Your vehicle battery is knackered or you have a bad earth somewhere, last resort could be your alternator is goosed…😎

I would start by disconnecting the leisure battery then sort out the light problem. It could be a bad earth or a problem with the connector to the rear lights where the converter connects into the Fiat system it's a multi-plug about 3/4 of the way along the chassis on the left hand side.

Although not directly connected the EM40 interface you may have fitted has fuses in it relating to the tow bar wiring and it may be worth checking they are ok. The EM40 should be behind the drivers seat.
