Ford transit custom
Hi everyone. I've recently bought a motorhome and all is good with it except we are having some issues with power. When we got everything worked in the back, the lights worked and all the sockets worked. We turned off the battery and took it home and just tried everything again and now nothing comes on. We plugged it to the mains in the house and nothing. also the ampeak intelligent battery charger doesn't look like it is doing anything either. We are new to all this so aren't 100% sure what we should do now. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

From the 7.5v on the charger I would suggest the battery is shot.

Make model and year would help with possible solutions 🤔

Start simple.

Confirm house socket is live, confirm cable is good and check connection on van.
Then fuse box/controller.

Presumably you connected the 230v mains at the vehicle's external EHU socket.
I can see that the charger's green 'On' LED is illuminated but are you sure that the mains cable is live? As strange as it may seem the 'On' LED on my Halfords charger illuminates when I connect the battery and before connecting the mains power. However the 'Charging' led doesn't illuminate until the mains power is switched on.
As said, if the battery is at 7.5v it's almost certainly u/s.
Have you connected the charger leads correctly?

As Funflair has said possible battery failure, depending on the van conversation if your battery feeds an inverter for all the van electrics and it has failed then that’s could be your issue, disconnect the battery and then check the battery voltage.

Try the simple things first unless you have a dedicated socket from which to power the van, plug something else into the house socket to make sure it’s live. Try turning the vans rcd off and on again, sometimes they will trip but the switch stays up?
