I have a constant issue with the sat nav on the unit constantly losing connection and giving a message ‘re routing’ and the icon representing the MH indicating a cross country trip. Today on the A55 from Holyhead to Llandudno didn’t stop doing this. Anyone experienced similar problems.

Not sure where the gps serial is located. Yet.

We have a 2015 pioneer sat nav radio combination. If it is hunting for satellites an icon comes up. Not sure if it will be the same though.

We did have an issue years ago when we accidentally selected an option to allow cross-country or off road tracks. Can't remember which but it tried to send us up some strange roads! Might be worth a look.

I get similar issues but with an Exzent head unit, I think the problem is with the antenna. If I could find a new aerial that would be reliable I would fit one, so I am looking for recommendations... ;)

You mean Xzent? New gps aerials are available from Amazon for under a tenner. Most likely though the gps is getting interference from nearby mobile phones, dash cams or wireless reversing/rear view screens. Trackers badly placed or faulty will cause interference. Easy check, have a look in the system and it will tell you how many satellites are available. You should get 8 or 9.

Yes I know there are loads of aerials available it is just hoping to buy one that I know is superior to the one that is already fitted. I have even peeled off the existing one and stuck some aluminium tape on the base before re-fixing it hoping to isolate any interference from below...
