I have not recieved my Hymer yet it is being driven down to us in France from friends in Scotland at the beginning of June. But I am making sheets, quilt covers etc and buying ”stuff” to fill it up.
my question is, do the curtains around the over cab bed come out for washing? I don’t really like them anyway, but appreciate their use.
Now, being an insomniac nosey person, I would appreciate being able to see out of the front cab window while in bed!
Has anyone out there made any adjustments to these plain over cab curtains, or taken them out completely, or changed them?
thanks.

Might help if you said what age B544, they do come out for washing.
You won't get much of a view out from in bed though

I think if you could look out of the window when in bed the curtains would be made so you could open them:unsure:

link to à You Tube video showing a couple making a new set of curtains, might find a way to add an opening. Just to ease claustrophobia really, not to spy on neighbours!

The curtains that go arounf the drop down bed do come out easily for washing, they have a plastic strip sown along top that clips in a part fixed to body.

It depends on the year how they attach. I had rusting from the screws that hold it at the top and grease & mould stains. I put in a Mini Heki skylight which really lightens the space up a lot and a nice bit of air on a non rainy night.

We have a small window facing out from the bed over the drivers door. That’s how to lookout from the bed .

Don’t forget that if you remove the curtains to see out, everyone outside can then see u in bed… :tmi:

I replaced the curtain in our 2000 B534 Hymer as the original was a bit mucky. With hindsight I wish I had put a couple of small pockets on at the time, for specs, phones, any other small, not too heavy items. The hardest job was putting the new curtain up so can't see me taking it down again.
