Rally Chat Help to create an event in the calendar

Following on from a funsters suggestion that we should be putting events in the calendar I thought i'd put the upcoming Dumfries rally in.

I have looked at a couple of events already in there to get an idea of whats required, so far I have added a description, start and end dates. This has been the easy part, looking at others they have managed to put a map in and some have tabs for attendees and discussion this is the part thats confusing me, thats actually not that hard to do

So if anyone can share their wisdom that would be much appreciated.

Click on 'rallies' in the dark blue band at the top Gerry. Then 'create an event' on your desired dates. Simples

Thats the easy part Ken, I'm wondering how you add the map do you just put co-ord in and it creates a map. Also how do you attach the tabs for attendees and discussion.

Thats the awkward bit Gerry and can get confusing because some will reply to your original thread and others to your 'event' in the calendar. Im sure Jim will be along shortly to clarify, but make sure you check both events regularly, assuming you create the calendar event, otherwise you'll end up in a muddle.

First you add the event and then an event thread is made automatically. No worries that you already have a thread I can sort that for you. In the event location field, add the full address and postcode and the map will sort itself out

Sorry to be a pest @Jim would it be possible to do a tab for the attendees, no worries if its a hassle as they're on the main thread anyway.

Its best to keep track of attendees in the thread, that way it also bumps the thread. That RSVP attendance aspect is not very robust and breaks often.
