Hi all, would really appreciate some advice before I head to the repair shop. Out of the blue the water pump stopped working, checked fuse which had blown and replaced. Still no pump. I've checked voltage at fuse which is fine but no voltage at pump or taps. Im at a loss and am surrounded by a dismantled van interior trying to find the fault.

Any help will be gratefully received and ill send you some beer tokens ;)

Hi, yes they are. The sink tap wires are easy to get to, the bathroom one on the other hand...

As the fuse was blown it was probably due the pump being faulty. Have you checked the replacement fuse with a meter as a visual check is not good enough they often look OK when blown.

Correct. But just to make sure, I've hit the big round black knob, power is on for everything..

Interesting that the pump is getting no voltage but fuse is ok! leavingwhat possibilities allowing for the fuse blowing.
Damaged insulation, disconected live feed to pump or control panel. Will pump work with test feed?

Hi, just checked fuse on meter, fine. Ran 2 lengths of cable direct from battery to pump, that works fine. Scratching head now

I hope this is not a problem at control panel. At least you have elliminated the pump as a problem. I know nothing about control panels, LennyHB could be your best bet,

Could be a connection the loom, have you checked the back of the switch to make sure a connection hasn't come or it could be a faulty switch.
I would see if you have power to the switch.

Have you tried using other taps or the shower? If they work it could be the microswitch on the tap ( I assume you're checking the pump power with the tap in the open position)

Just removed control panel, all looks fine at the back, will check fuse in toilet tomorrow as I've lost the will to live at the mo and am very close to hitting everything with a sledgehammer. Thanks for the suggestions folks.

The fuse having blown would indicate a dead short. A bare wire possibly from the main fuse to the pump. Has any other work been done that could have damaged cables in the van?
Mike.

The pump isn't wired via the control panel on an Exsis, have you taken the switch out and had a look like I suggested.

Edit:
Just noticed it's one of the older Exsis so may not have a switch for the pump.

Thanks guys. No other work has been done, I've taken most of the covers, side panels out to try to see if there are an bare wires but can't find anything. No switch on the control panel for the pump. Lenny, by switch I assume you mean the control panel switch, ive taken it out and all looks good. Im going to sleep on it and return for another look tomorrow.

Presumably all the other 12v stuff is working?
Just an idle thought..........have you been moving stuff around or in and out of lockers which may have dislodge a connection?

Yep, everything else is tickerty boo. I'll have a good look at cables and connections tomorrow with fresh eyes.

Morning all, back to it. Gonna send power direct to pump the try taps and loo individually to see if the pull water through. Just trying to eliminate everything. Two questions, there wouldn't be another set of fuses somewhere other than the
EBL would there, this so look like a fuse has gone but alm the ones on the EBL have been checked / tested and finally, is the a place i can get a wiring diagram for the van. Cheers

The best you will get in the way of a wiring diagram is the schematic in the EBL manual.
The only fuse in the pump circuit is the one in the EBL.

With the tap microswitches one side is connected to +12v & the other side to the pump, the negative from the pump will connect to the EBL.

I would buss your connections through starting with the negative, you only need to check one side of the pump goes to negative or chassis don't need to follow it back to the EBL.
The positive is a bit more of a challenge but start with the nearest switch to the EBL should be 12v on one side of the switch if not you need to start following wires, the other side of the switch see if it connects to the pump positive.
