Help please, we are in Croatia & need a repairer

Hi, can you help?
We are in Croatia and we need to find a company in the Split area that can look at our 12 volt system. Nothing works on 12v (all ok on the 240 hook up though).

The fuses are all okay but the Electroblok EBL 99, or the leisure batteries or the solar system might be faulty. A friendly German motorhomer who has electrical experience checked the system as best he could this morning and he thinks it is the electrical EBL 99.

We need to find a service repair company, have you had experience of using one in Split, maybe used a company here, or maybe you know of one?

Any help locating a company would be greatly appreciated.

If you are at one of the large sites, go to reception and ask them for some advice, we were near Split a couple of weeks ago at Camping Belvedere Trogir, they spoke good English and I am sure they will be able to provide you with access to a local engineer who can help?

The latest development is that it is only the 12v supply to the water pump is dead. The lights etc all work ok now. All the fuses on the electroblok checked and changed just to make sure.

Sally - we asked at the site and they rang 5 companies for us and they all said they are too busy to help us!
tacr2man - we rang these chaps today and they will call us back tomorrow.

Great perhaps the pump failed and caused an issue? Hope you get the pump sorted.

Could you not rig up another supply to the water pump just to tide you over?

Hi Jimbo, I tried your idea and we think the pump is broken.
Update;
Van repaired yesterday in a garage 12kms away after contact with Croatia Camper Depot, who arranged the appointment for us. Electroblok EBL 99 is okay and working. New pump fitted and spare one purchased, now had two new pumps in 2 months! Thanks for all of your help and advice, as always it’s appreciated.

It would be prudent to identify how and therefore why it failed. Is it being overloaded and the motor is burnt out for example?

At least a happy ending and you can carry on with your travels knowing that all is well.maybe prudent to put an additional fuse in the pump wiring a bit closer to the pump where you can check it if the same problem occurs. Got to be cheaper than new pumps ,

If it is a Reich twin submersible pump like Hymer use, they are generally very reliable.
Normally only fail if run dry for any length of time.
If it is that type of pump look at the casing see if there is any distortion in the plastic. If there is it's a sure sign it's been run dry.
Because of the twin pumps if they have been run dry one pump fails then the other one a few months later.
