We got our first campervan in July 2024. This is our first so we’re new!
Help please!

I’ve just tried to update my Truma iNet X control panel as the Truma app suggested that I can’t use it unless I update it.

I followed the instructions and kept my phone near the panel whilst it updated and it aid it was transferring the update to the panel which looked like it completed OK.

The panel is now stuck on the screen shown in the photo below, the app won’t connect and pressing the panel buttons don’t do anything.

I’ve disconnected the 12V power for 60 seconds but when I connect it up again, it just stays on this screen and has been like that for over half an hour now.

Has anyone any suggestions please as we’re away tomorrow (hence checking everything works!) but it seems to have backfired 🙁

If you have a VPN on your phone you might have to turn it off as in my case it blocked connecting to other Bluetooth devices.

Thanks but I don’t have a VPN on my phone and am pretty sure it’s the iNet panel that’s ‘hung’ for some reason after/during the update.

Hmmm, not good. I successfully updated my inet X to the latest version and the process is painful. The update transfer takes ages but once done then the Truma unit updates relatively quickly, I get the splash screen that you show but only for a minute or so.

Perhaps try this:

Restarting the control panel
Press and hold the Home button and the Back button together to restart the control panel.

Thanks yorkiebar

I’ve tried holding both buttons down for 1 second, 10 seconds and 30 seconds and it does nothing… just stays on the splash screen but with no ‘twirling’ which is what it does when it usually starts up.

Any other ideas?

Hmmm, it does sound like a panel update issue but perhaps try reseting the Truma boiler unit itself. There's a reset button under the plastic cover I believe.

If that doesn't work then it's time to call Dan!

If the reset button is the one in between the yellow and red wires, I’ve now tried that and no change 🙁

I’ve tried ringing the Consort helpline but no answer but hopefully they’ll get the voice mail that I left and ring me back sometime.

Bummer! As a final attempt I would pull the leisure battery fuse on the driver seat base and leave it out for 30 mins or so then refit and see if any change. Perhaps the 60s you tried isn't enough, although it just may be the case that the panel is now stuffed.

Thanks… I’ve done that now and will report back in half an hour or so 🤞

Consort help line only available during working hours as you get through to a real person, properly better to phone truma or email them.

Which Truma app are you using? Is it the previous ‘Truma’ app or the new ‘Truma iNet System’ app?

It’s this one… the new iNet system one looks like it’s for the iNet box, not the panel (I may be wrong though 🤔)

I had a similar problem when I tried the update. I had to reset the box to its factory settings and firmware as follows:

o factory reset a Truma iNet Box, you can try the following steps:
  1. Disconnect the iNet Box from the power supply
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the iNet Box
  3. Apply power to the iNet Box
  4. Continue to hold the Bluetooth button for another 20 seconds
  5. When the green LED on the box is lit constantly, open the iNet System app and initiate the firmware update

Thanks lunarman but mine is the iNet X panel, not the iNet box so I don’t think this will work.

I don’t know how to factory reset the panel other than disconnecting the 12V and removing the battery which I’ve done with no joy 🙁

There's no iNet box with the latest iNet X panel unfortunately.

View attachment 976202 Will it let you press on any of the icons on the screen ?

Have you tried to remove the CR2032 battery from the back of the control panel as well as turning off the 12V supply?

Yep, tried that, left it for 5 minutes with the battery out, plugged everything back in and no change 🙁

Sorry can't think of anything else to try maybe a call to truma on Monday, I've found them very helpful.
Good luck.

Thank you so much for the offer but we’re only going relatively local to us in Norfolk.

Any joy with Truma helpline ( or Consort ) ?
