HELP! On site and water pump doesn’t run for kitchen tap

Hi

Arrived on site and have discovered that the water pump does not start when I turn on the kitchen tap, however it does when I turn on the tap in the bathroom. This means if I put the bathroom tap on, I can get water in the kitchen too as the pump clearly puts enough pressure in the water for both.

It’s as if the kitchen tap has lost the ability to trigger the pump starting.

Can anyone offer some advice as to what to look for?

Microswitch in the kitchen tap has failed.
As a temporary measure turn another tap on just enough to start the pump the open the kitchen tap as normal.

Thanks - and to get this sorted when we get back, is it an easy fix? Can the microswitch be replaced or does it need a whole new tap unit?

Yes the microswitch can be replaced, often it's a broken wire inside the tap not the microswitch itself.
