A dear friend is traveling Spain right now. Their van has suddenly shown up an E1 fault code and everything has stopped working. He has done all the obvious checks to no avail. I suggested he sees a dealer for an electrical inspection as nothing works, no fridge, water, etc. Any bright ideas from anybody?

Just to clarify and I'm not being 'clever', but how does the E1 fault show up if there's no electrics at all?
If it's only the 12v that's failed it could be the large-rated (30amp? 50amp?) main 12v fuse located usually near the leisure battery.
Is the m/h on hook-up?

I’m passing on what he said ? He said he’s checked the fuses. I will pass on all the pearls of wisdom to him, that’s if he can even charge his phone.

I’m asking now but I fear his phone has run out of puff.

Just a thought, but I can charge my phone with a lead that plugs in to the cig lighter socket on my dashboard and connects directly to the starter battery. Many phone shops/supermarkets/garages sell the leads.

HOORAY. It’s all working. A Spanish dealer took a look and after 10 minutos he pulled the 2 main fuses, the ones under the seat in a Fiat and hey presto when reinserted the whole system rebooted.
It’s worth knowing that this is a common problem and Just for the record they have a 2 year old Rapido on a Fiat chassis.
They send mucho gracias to everyone who helped.
Funster power indeed.
Thanks Phil meboots
