After feeling smug for changing my cab battery I've lost 240v. No lights on the Sargent Ec400.

12v is working as is the cab battery but nothing through the mains.

I disconnected the hook up before I changed the battery but I didn't shutdown the Sargent.

Fuse panel mention a fuse 15 for the charger (internal to PSU) 25a white but can't see it, there are only 1-14 in the fuse box.

Help, such a noobie idiot sometimes

The fuse you can’t find is behind/ inside the Unit. You have to take the unit out , which is fun(!) and it is hiding in there. Whether that is the cause of your problem is a different matter, I don’t know.
Have you reconnected the hook-up correctly, check that side of things.

Yes, reset the rcb and mcb a few times, just about to pickup a fuse kit which I need anyway.

I've currently powered it all down with system shutdown, not sure if there is a reset there too.

Going to have to look for this charger fuse.

The mains hookup was disconnected, I put my 12v jump pack on the jump points too while I disconnected the battery. Not sure this worked though as the date and time reset. The radio code remained though.

The ec400 panel doesn't show any errors just the battery voltages and software version.

I'm just such a ludite with these sorts of things.

I did spot this big beast but it looks intact

The mains shouldn't have much to do with the 12v side, except for the charger that supplies 12v when you're plugged in. So are the mains sockets working? Does the fridge flip to mains?

No the fridge lights come on when I switch on for mains andbut then beep after a few seconds which indicates its not working. The microwave isn't on either, that is always the obvious when 240v is working.

Not sure why the water heater and space heater lighs are not on with the EC400 control panel, or are they 240v too?

The charger is nothing to do with the 240v supply (it is supplied from it though), as has been suggested it would be worth checking the EHU lead and its connection plugs , or trying another if you have one. Also is there a trip on the ECH supply

It's at my house so it's into the household sockets, I did check just in case but nothing has tripped. If any of the plug fuses had blown the internal sockets would trip wouldn't they?

I don't have another cable but I'm next to halfords so could get one.

I've got fuses now so going to take the Sargent out to get behind. There is a screw missing so looks like it's been out before.

Plug something into a 240 volt socket like a hairdryer and see if it works. If it doesn't then suspect your EHU lead or the supply where it is plugged in. From the consumer unit cables will run direct to the sockets and have nothing to do with the 12 volt side. My guess is the EHU lead might have been damaged or something tripped in the house/garage when you unplugged it.

I’d expend your efforts confirming you have 240VAC reaching your RCD, this issue is nothing to do with the LV side.

Bizarrely it's all back working. I did pull both ends again before I went to pick up the fuses. I also switched all the RCB MCB switches again.

I've come back to try a hairdryer and noticed the microwave on and all lights lit on the Sargent. Fridge switches on too, and batteries will charge.

My hook up was one the dealer had lying around when I bought the van, so could be the culprit, hinges are a bit rusty. I will invest In a new one anyway.

Will monitor overnight but thanks for all the responses and helping me not stress it was catastrophic 🙄🤣

It might be worth opening each end plug of your hook-up cable, in case it is just a loose connection. I ripped out the wire when I decided to reverse a couple of feet with the cable behind the rear wheel, while still hooked up (to save time!!).

I've just ordered a new 10m & 25m cable from Amazon. The freebie is quite rusty and faded so might as well just make sure, what's another £50 odd quid in the new to motorhoming world  get it all in now before I finish work in a month.

That fuse is a 12V fuse for the 12V output of the charger. The 240V input to the charger will come from one of the mains trip switches (MCBs). I doubt there will be a fuse, but if there is it certainly won't be 25A, more like 2A or 3A, and it will be inside the charger and very unlikely to blow unless there's a serious fault with the charger.

Update after you kind folk allayed my power crisis fears.

New cables arrived and worked first time, so old one retired to the shed.

New battery all good. It was down to 12.3v after 6 days in storage, so as I'm collecting it weekly to charge overnight at home until my solar is fitted I think that's about right, drain wise. There is a factory fit tracker somewhere in the van which I'm not using, but that and the alarm will be on.

At some point in the future you could buy a new plug and socket, cut off a few inches at each end, strip back and install the new plug and socket. Then you'd probably find it's as good as new again. Obviously check along its length for any obvious damage first, of course.
