Peugeot boxer
Hi peugeot boxer autosleeper 2.5 x plate 2000 , orange key light I've been led to believe common fault shuts fuel supply off ,stops it starting can anybody send me details or give info how to bypass , I'm a single parent with an autistic child so last thing I need is to get stranded somewhere 😀 autism and problems don't go well .it's done it a couple of times ,so might as well just bypass rather than waste valuable time ( which I've not got ) .. any help etc much appreciated thanks

Is this an immobiliser thing..? Have you tried changing the fob battery…

Welcome.
Have you asked a Peugeot dealer or local garage? You say it's a common issue si surely they will be able to help or at least get yourself a wiring diagram so that you may be able to mod it yourself.
It won't help that you have posted two duplicate threads with the same question so you'll get duplicated replies.

Hi.
Been there, got the bruised knuckles and badge to prove it.

The old Fiat/Pug immobiliser goes senile and intermittent.
It turns your diesel pump OFF so engine spins freely but won't actually fire.

I will admit I have traveled to a few other vans and helped sort it but I am on chemotherapy at the moment so travel and grazed knuckles are something I have to avoid. I have only done it for Motorhome Fun members too (best £20 annual membership you will ever spend).

What's your location?
I do know at least one friendly garage that know what needs to be done.
The bypass is one option, the other is to pay to have the fuel pump itself replaced with the non-immobiliser version.

Picture is of the offending module!!

Coupe of things to check before opening wallet..

Are you waiting until the amber light in the dash (looks like a small padlock) goes out before cranking ? If not it will just crank and not start ..

Have you added any other keys to your key ring ?
I had that problem, another other car key I recently added to my key ring was confusing the signal from the ECU to the key chip.. it sends a small RF signal that does a 'handshake' with the key chip to authorise starting..

Remove any other keys from your keyring and try the ignition key on it's own.

Just for info, there is no battery in the key..

I thanks for reply tried all the above even disconnected the battery and just out of the blue it went out and fired up . Its Currently started about 9 times problem free but it's the fact that it's a matter of where and when it happens again

Tried that mate spare key etc that's why I'm just going to bypass it

Novice on forums had no idea it would duplicate thought 1 was an introduction. But no harm done . I've never used main dealers for anything being honest think you are always better trying yourself then you know exactly what's been tried and tested .

First thing - add new earth strap from battery to engine block and gearbox to wing.
Old Fiat Pug had terrible earth straps.

Message me for instructions.
I can dig them out.
Literally an old chisel to prise off the cover in my picture.
Small circuit board underneath.
Lever that up and connect wire underneath direct to battery (but better via a switch).
Seal the new connection up to prevent corrosion.

To anyone reading this and thinks it makes theft easy - it takes about an hour of fiddling under bonnet even if you know what you are doing.
