The flame doesn’t have to be very big, as long as it encloses the flame failure sensor/s. If the flame is sustaining, then you may have a blockage in the flue. You might be able to get to the top of the flue via the upper grill. On mine there is a cowl, secured with a screw that would need the motorhome body removing to undo!! You can feel the heat from the flame, however, after a while of running the fridge. If you can’t feel any heat at all, you may have a blockage in the flue. If you have access to an airline, you could try removing the burner, and blasting air up the flue, which might dislodge whatever is blocking it.
If the flue is working properly, then you may have to revert to the ultimate ‘fix’ - take the fridge out, and turn it upside down (or maybe just on it’s side - never had to do it myself, but you will find plenty of references here if you search the forum) for a few hours, then replace it, and it should work again!!!
probably the jet if youve got a small flame
Well finally got to the boiler...got a flame but not as we know it Captain...Very small and certainly not roaring....what the big cylinder abovevtge plastic container ? The fridge works fine on 12v and 240v. Someone told me a fridge gets even colder in gas...but not mine.My fridge started defrosting on a THS last year. I popped the vent cover and there was a small blue flame present, I was expecting to see a feeble yellow flame if the problem was gonna be gas related. Decided to whip the jet out anyway as there was the obligatory pile of rusty dust under the burner. The jet and burner didn't look too bad, but when I nailed it all back together, the flames was at least twice as large and more importantly, it was making its familiar "roaring" sound. Fridge was working fine after that.
