Why are you stuck it should be quite driveable if it will rev up to 2800.

When ours went into limp mode last year, out of gear, foot to the floor and it would gradually get to 3000 rpm, in gear trying to drive, a month of Sunday to get to 1200 rpm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd and it would not pull at all 4th 5th and 6th.
Got to a "safe area" (no it bloody was not) and cleared the fault with the OBD reader and the Torque app and off we went.
I always carry an OBD reader with us, in most cases, it's a get-out of jail free. (y)

Sitrep, I lost power off a roundabout and pulled in a parking place. Revved the engine with clutch depressed only achieved 2750 which I now know is what should happen. Revived it normally with no snags, turned it off and on again. Gingerly set off again. Seems to be fine now. I was panicking as I have a ferry to catch and dogs that need to be over the channel before their arc expires. (Again) hopefully a once in a time blip. Will update later.

You didn’t accidentally press the brake and accelerator together did you?
That can cause a temporary loss of power.

Thats happened to me They said it was injectors, I think it could be a number of things such as turbo waste gate valve , fuel line blockage . Bad earth strap. Water in fuel filter.using accelerator and brake at same time even slightly. Glad to know you are on your way now and good luck.

I think you mean accelerator and brake at the same time. Using clutch and brake wouldn't be abnormal.

No further occurrence of my bijou snagette, currently settled at la courte vallee in Airvault. Very, very quiet and pants weather. Stopped at Aldi prior to here and I was astounded how expensive it was, might just have to drive to Spain sooner than planned.

Food prices frightening in France and we got a shock how much they have gone up in Spain in the last year. Did a small shop in Lidl yesterday came to €80. Eating out is still fairly cheap.

Are obd readers manufacturer specific and which is the one to go for?? We have a fiat ducato 140bhp as well ??

Some are if you want to get more into the depth of options within the ECU, but for the most part, a cheapish decent OBD2 reader will cover most fault codes.
I have a Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 reader permanently connected to our MH so I can use the Torque Pro app as a kph speedo when abroad.

Here's the Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 reader on Amazon Amazon product ASIN B071D8SYXN
I use the Torque Pro app on an Android device. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.prowl.torque&hl=en_GB&gl=US

Here's the iOS version. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/torque-car-pro-obd2-scanner/id1665043651

That is actually a great question. Most OBD2 scanners will work with generic stuff. But if you want to delve deeper, you need one that is compatible with multiecuscan and the set of adaptor leads for the various systems. If you only want to reset the check engine light, any will work

They've got generic OBD readers in Aldi at the moment. Don't know how good they are, but they definitely won't do ABS/SRS.

I've ordered the one "two on tour" suggested, they are so confident in their product they give a 2 year no quibble guarantee "until it goes wrong" 🤣 it's £26 now! Found the same one later on ebay £20

As above, though we use the blue vgate dongle. For apps we find Alfaobd on android works on the ducato, as foes multiecuscan on a laptop. Also Torque lite and Carista for the toyota and other bra ds. All the free versions - haven't needed a pay version yet touch wood.

Ducato 2020 2.3 160ps
Always carry little laptop with MultiECUScan - the logging and insight it gives is worth every penny
