VW campervans(3) for 30 years, motor home since July 2024.
We have been campervaners for about 35 years on and off in 3 different VW,s, but since we’re both retired now we bought ourselves a 2021 Eldiss Accordo 105, and we’re really enjoying the more luxurious side to our stays on campsites compared to our VW T4(even though it was a lovely van). We are considering our first trip to Northern Spain in September to watch a few stages of La Vuelta, and would love to hear any suggestions about sites, weather and cycling recommendations, thanks,Bianchiman(aka Ronnie).

Welcome!
We toured that part of Spain earlier this year. Plenty of good sites available - suggest that you get the Search 4 Sites app.

Welcome to the mine field 😂. Soon I will be asking YOU questions as I quite fancy a visit to south Wales, I remember some of it from my childhood, camping with my parents (in a tent and a Bedford van - so you get an idea of the time frame), but will need some up to date information. Have fun.

Welcome from another Bianchi rider based in South Wales. Can't offer any advice on following La Vuelta sorry!

We have followed the TdeF for years but only seen the Vuelta once, coincidentally on the French side of the Pyrenees! We were left completely underwhelmed.
A big part of the Tour is the Caravan that precedes it. The Vuelta Caravan consisted of about 5 vehicles, a total let down.
Having also done a fair bit in Spain i would suggest aiming for a large town to watch to get the most of the local atmosphere. Large chunks of the race are out on the open roads and quite featureless.
I don't know this years route, but if it goes anywhere near the Picos mountains, that would be my choice. You will not be disappointed.
When watching the race, don't worry too much about campsites, you can pitch up pretty much anywhere.
For general cycling, as suggested, get on the ViaVerde website.
