Chausson 530
Hi everyone, just joined and about to visit the show at NEC.

We currently have a Chausson 530 which we’ve had for 6 years and love but tempted to try something new and maybe upgrade to 7 meters.

We’ve got some (fairly specific) requirements and would love to know if anyone can suggest some models that we should look at that might work for us…

Must have’s

Garage big enough for 2 x folding bikes and 2 x paddle boards, plus the usual bits and bobs

Either a Fixed bed or end u-shaped lounge (think we’ve had enough of a drop down bed but wouldn’t rule it out)

Under 3.5 tonnes and max 7 meters length

Minimum 500kg payload

At least similar quality to Chausson

Like to have

Manual not auto box

Diesel heating

Roof space for 2 x solar panels (300w total)

Many thanks

Have a look at the Rapido 854f.The latest model has a slightly larger garage and a bit more length than the current one I've just collected.A class bed with or without a rear drop down bed which will get you more payload if you delete it.Nice U shaped lounge. It comes with gas rather than diesel heating but you could retro fit that and use the existing ducting.I've got 2x175w solar.

Baileys new Alora range. One has fixed transverse bed, looks really nice, 7m long too.
My sons GF designed the award winning bed👍

How deep are your pockets? I like the Le Voyageur 6.8LF still a drop down bed but very spacious as a result.

Thank you all for the suggestions, lots to think about!

I definitely like the look of the Bailey Alora range and will take a close look at the show tomorrow. A slightly narrow van would be great as we like to visit out of the way places… and we’ve picked up a few adventure scratches at 2.35m wide, especially in a Cornwall! What we really want is a tardis!
