Hi. This is my first post here but not my first campervan build. The last one was in 2008 and now we're starting again with an almost new Peugeot Boxer. I'm planning to replace the front seats with captain's seats and wondering if I can re-use the bench seat in the rear. I'd like to be able to carry three passengers legally and safely. Are there any 'official' kits available? Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks
Nick

If you're planning on using it as part of a semi dinette, you'll find you have a height issue if you want to share a table with the swivelling front seats. It'll need to raise it up a fair amount to be level with the front seats. Lots of van converters raise the floor for the dinette.

My first van was a post conversion done by a "professional". The front seat had been moved to the back. They'd welded some box section on to the base and coach bolted it to the floor. It was horribly unsafe. It was also really uncomfortable because your feet couldn't touch the floor, so your legs were dangling.

Has the donor vehicle got anchor points for seat belts where you want to put the seat?
Or a suitable bulkhead area?
Adding seats safely is pretty hard - based on related threads on MHF

Good point, I hadn't considered that, thanks. I suppose raising the seats does make it harder to firmly fix them to the floor.

Hmmm, no and having just looked at the seat, I can't see an easy way of making a support for the nearside belt. I suppose I could have one 3 point belt and one lap belt but it's not ideal. Thanks.
