Has anyone replaced the above ?
How do you remove the old struts, I'm assuming you have to remove the complete black plastic housing from the skylight from either side to remove the pins ?

Try this link for video . not sure if it is the same a yours . Did mine a few years ago on a rally , so reasonably easy with a few tools
That's great thanks, it's the same as mine.
I've got replacement struts with me, on a site at the moment, and have got a few tools so I'm going to have a go.

Both struts changed and the Heki now stays fully open (y)
One of the old struts had no pressure at all in it and the other strut very little.
For anybody doing this job I found the easiest way to remove the pin retaining caps was to drill a small hole in the centre, screw a screw in a few turns then pull the screw with pliers pulling the cap out with the screw.
Only problem I've got is that the pin holes in the new struts, despite being advertised as direct replacements, are about twice the diameter of the originals so there is a little play.
I'll see how I get on but now I've replaced one set then replacing them again will be straight forward.
Thanks to lynnian for the link to the video (y)
