Has anyone been able to find ramps that are light weight, of a good height at least 8” high. Willing to sacrifice them being heavier to get a strong pair. I’ve been using for the last 15 years a pair that I made out of wood.

I used to use a pair of actual metal ramps made from angle iron. Didn't weigh much at all.

To me they don’t look big enough, and resting your tyres on them while parked up can’t be good for the tyres.
Worked aok with our motorhomes. Have used them for years. No issues with tyres.

We have those, and do find the tyre radius is too big for the recess - but they do a variant with 3 recesses, which I wish we'd got instead. But they are very heavy, so we are currently back using an old pair of Fiamma Level Up ramps to save weight.

I took a good sharp saw and took the peaks off, been using them on our 5.3 tonne with 225/75/r16 tyres on and had no problems.

I have the Milenco Quattros and have found them to be no problem. I've even used them for maintenance jobs too. I don't know what you consider to be "heavy" these aren't "light" but they fit into their own carry bag and tuck away nicely in our garage ?
As for them damaging your tyres, I'm not so sure, they're made from injection moulded plastic that has got to be a magnitude softer than the tarmac that your van tyres run on every day ?

Have used Milenco Quatros for as long as we've had our van. Never had any problem but of course I make sure the wheels are properly seated in the depressions and not on the edges. Yes they are quite heavy but so is the truck! Never found anywhere I wanted to stay without being able to level us up with these.

I have used Milenco Quattro 3s for 2 years now and they not caused any damage to the tyres ( road surfaces are rougher ) and they are great if you need to observe anything under the van.

This point has been mentioned in the past... However I cannot see the differance between parking on these ramps and on a rough gravel hardstanding.
I use these ramps and have so for many years and never found they damaged tyres in any way..

I now also use my Quattros when doing some simple jobs under the Healey, rather than the heavier metal ones, or the four sill stands.
