Anyone experiencing the heatwave in Europe, was there in April / May and had days in the 30s and was hot then, see they are now predicting 40 degrees to come….

We have had high 30's for several day in Italy and over 40c for two day in a row at the bottom of lake Garda and Milan 🥵, moved onto the French Alps now and it's lovely and cool.

Not noticing anything excessive here in Catalunya for July. I work intensive courses during July and we're obliged by the academy to use the aircon as it's part of their sales blurb - makes me sneeze but when you have to wear full shoes, long trousers and a shirt as part of the dress code, then the aircon is rather important.

You fairly notice the difference coming out onto the street but I wouldn't say it's any worse than other years. Hottest it's been in my area was a sustained 38C for several days in August 2014 - that made nights without a fan difficult.

Biggest problem is the lack of water caused by a very dry winter and spring. We have a ban on car washing, lawn sprinkers and that continental practice of hosing down your garden at night (hasn't stopped one of my neighbours), but more seriously it means that trees, wild growth and non-irrigated crops are lurching from one period of brief rainfall to the next.

Today I saw some very sad looking wheat in a field near the house standing wilting and a bit brown at 75cms tall where normally it would be a metre and half tall and highly verdant at this stage...

Jeez . 47C! Imagine that inside a Motorhome that’s been in the sun all day . Frightening
Tbf it does depend on the motorhome, better insulation really helps and glass windows seem to be better than perspex ones. People in PVC's are going to have a rough time.

Its been a very pleasant mid twenties here in Vendee/Loire area

Not sure PVC owners will be that much worse off ?

Anyone without aircon and all the windows and doors completely shut is going to find 45 deg and over, a little “toasty” 😁

Smaller space, less insulation, smaller openings unless your prepared to leave the doors open. Sorry they do have upsides but hot weather is a dòwnside

We experienced the low the low 40's for a couple of days in Northern Italy this week without aircon and it isn't a pleasant experience, the high 30's for days on end was bad enough.
The heat did cause some intense thunder storms which did give some restbite for a few hours.

Let’s agree to disagree 😉😁 ….

We experienced 40+ in 2019 in France and found plenty of 12v fans to keep the air circulating was the best solution overnight. Southern Europe tourism is really going to suffer if these temperatures keep coming at this rate though …🤔

Meanwhile, in Cardiff this morning.....

It's going to slow on the M4 to Bristol airport today 😕 Never mind, it'll be sunny when we arrive in Milan 😎

Here in southeast Slovenia the temperature is high 20s to low 30s. A bit hotter than I like but in a house with shutters closed on the sunny side, it's ok. I would not want to be in the motorhome at the moment.

Usually we have full sun all day with the occasional thunderstorm but yesterday there was a humdinger of a hailstorm - in Ljubljana they had hailstones 7cm in diameter!
