Hi,

We bought a van last October and it's our first one so still learning the ropes a fair bit.. just wondering does anyone have any advice for making it easier to hear the kids in the back and vice versa, as well as any recommendations for speakers etc making it better for them to hear the radio without cranking up the volume too high.

My partner has some hearing loss so it can be quite difficult when driving to hear over the engine..

Any tips really appreciated :)

We find it difficult to hear any speech in the van radio.
I use Spotify or similar to play just music. For the kids, I would think earphones and their own music would be best unless they are very young.
Engine noise can be reduced with an under bonnet soundproofing and in cab floor soundproofing

I've made both my previous panel van and my current A-class far quieter on the move by adding sound deadening foam and bitumen sheets. It meant we could talk to each other without raising our voices. The van in particular was miles better after I took the door cards off and put the foil covered sticky back closed cell foam against all the metal skins. The A-class has mainly had the weighted sheets added to the backs of the dash surrounds.

Have a look on the T6forum for cab and scuttle sound deadening.

Lots of audio specialists there as well.
