Slowly and methodically planning our exit from the rat race in best case scenario, three years time.

We will be fortunate to have a steady income having contributed to teaching and local authority pension for decades.

House will be paid off.

The van we have now (2009 plate) will likely be coming to the end of its life and we will probably upgrade.

The plan is to rent out the house, buy a newish van and head off for 10 or so years.

I appreciate its a long time and big commitment, but its out plan and if it doesn't work out we'll change the plan.

Considering we do head off to the EU, Turkey, North Africa etc, usual van life for retirees destinations, for 10 years plus, what advice would experienced types give for managing health care.

Both healthy at the moment in our early 50's but want the security of half decent health care.

How do people manage in general, insurance etc.?

Thanks

I’m using Big Cat Insurance. It is kind of gap year insurance and cover ‘oldies’ too!

They only cover up to age 69
