Headlight Alignment

If its LHD they can be set the LHD setting which is kick up to the right or they can be set to flat dipping.
If its RHD the RHD setting they will kick up to the left or can be set for flat dipping.

Just point the van at a wall or your garage door you will see the beam pattern.

Where is this setting?
I also have a Carthago Compactline and have been wondering about headlamp adjustment.

I think Carthago's have 'flat' headlights without the kick up on one side or the other.
Ours is LHD but I’ve never adjusted the lights and it’s passed it’s MOT's without any comments.
As Lenny HB said, drive it up to a wall or a garage door and look at the beam shape.

As yours is LHD if you bought it in the UK it will have been adjusted for flat dipping.

My Hymer is LHD I usually flip it back to the LHD position when we go away. Then adjust it back to flat just before we get on the ferry on return.

This is from the Carthago owners club.
It’s a rough diagram but understandable.
Access is an absolute arse and only suitable for people named “Twizzle”! Needless to say, I left them alone.

Adjusted mine a few years again before a trip to Europe but it's a terrible job and very frustrating losing much hand skin. Haven't bothered going near them again.

Mine is RHD but as far as I can tell the lights dip flat. I have therefore never bothered to attempt adjustment and despite night driving many times in different parts of Europe, and of course in the UK, I have never had a problem.
