Surely its the same unit as fitted to all the sevel vehicles of that age?
Apart from the walnut dash it looks the same as my fiat unit.
Bit of a sod to get at after removing the radio etc.
Would much rather you didn't keep increasing the fuse size, which fuse is blowing, what does it control? When does it blow?
Keep pecker up!

I think you need to establish why the fuse is blowing bearing in mind it’s there to safeguard the vehicle from turning into a fireball. Damaged cable somewhere?

hi Mike
thanks for the reply.
it is fuse 53 10amp which controls the indicators after blowing fuses even with ignition off I’m presuming that it’s always live due to hazards being able to work without ignition on and what happens is one of 2 things as soon as you push fuse into slot quick spark and blown or renew fuse press hazard switch quick beep and blown only tried the 20 amp fuse once and it blew.
but funny enough the Rac man did say if it was his he would keep increasing the fuse the when he see smoke he could tell it was that component at fault.
not something I would ever try doing though.
the only thing I can think of doing is maybe take apart the module to see if any burning has occurred inside Rac man said there is a printed circuit board inside apart from that no clue I’m afraid looking for wisdom my friend

Loads of switch only or whole bank of switches on eBay?

View attachment 774549
Hi Jev yes I get that was looking around for a couple of hours yesterday, but I need to know that it is the switch at fault this is what I will be trying to do first before buying one.
as I don’t wanna throw good money away just need to cover all bases.

Your description points to a short circuit with the indicator circuit as the hazard switch provides the link to make them work without ignition.
Remove the bulbs and retest fitting one at a time to identify any shorted wires (side repeaters in doors mirrors could have a damaged loom near the door hinge).
Dont fit bigger fuses as the standard one is well able to handle the load under normal conditions.

Switch around £25. Well worth a try and save you lots of time hunting around if it is the switch? Buy it from Amazzon and return it if it doesn't help. ?

Is the RAC man a pyromaniac
You could wait till dark, add bigger fuses and get a few friends round for the fireworks and maybe a bonfire. An ex USA President mentioned at the start of the pandemic "injecting some sort of disinfectant " low and behold...........
