Have you had a stressful campsite arrival?

Plymouth Sound CMC site, typical roads for so many sites down the west Country, we have given up going down to many of them, just not worth the scratches on the side windows and side panels, plus the stress from other drivers, dare I say farmers also, but they have to be there I guess its their living.
These roads were built for carts & horses, yet campsites open up and expect all to get there by hook or by crook, but once is enough for some, especially in a new A Class Van.
Google Earth is a must before going we now know.

I stayed at a site near Polparro , the farmer met me on the main road and drove in front of me to clear the road on the way in, I had a trailer with a Harley. On the way out I was on my own, I chose the quick way towards Polparro which is down a very steep hill. Thankfully I made it without meeting another vehicle. I didn't fancy reversing up hill with a small trailer

The roads in South Devon are often very narrow. When I towed a car behind we would check on Google Street Scene and drive the car in separately if they looked difficult. Until I bought a narrower motorhome I didn’t realise what an enormous difference a few centimetres width can make when squeezing down narrow lanes.

We go away for weekends quite often and wanted our motorhome to be a daily driver as well. We chose an A class Hymer Exsis which is narrower than the usual A class. It does make the slave inside tighter, but I'm so glad that we did. It's only 2.2 metres wide (ex mirrors) and as Pausim says, a few cm makes a huge difference.

There's a CS not far from Brecon. It's also a working farm with very good facilities. But the road to it is about a 1.5 mile single track job. I was constantly praying "please don't let there be something coming then other way" as i drove along it. Luckily there wasn't.

I thought he was a bit over cautious tbh. My dad would have been shouting "youll get 2 busses through there"
but better safe than sorry I spose,

but that wouldnt be good for youtube clicks ;)

Yip, C&MC sites at Modbury and Start Bay are another couple albeit not as bad as Plymouth Sound.

If you're a clever clogs heading to Start Bay you wait at Kingbridge for the bus to Dartmouth and follow it through! :xThumb: :xThumb: :xThumb:

I remember CACC Folkstone access road being rather tight! :( In fact, they do not allow caravans if I remember correctly.

Great footage and loved some of the commentary.

Just a little tip for when passing horses, make sure you have at least two metres width. It looked like they stopped to give you permission to pass, so all good there (y)
