Have I shot myself in the foot?

Some photos of setup
Looks like you have a automatic changeover regulator so I would turn off both cylinders and fill up then follow instructions and ensure the wheel is full over to the cylinder you want to use as currently does not look quite lined up to me.

You cant make this up!!! I was on the phone to Gaslow whilst i had my head in the boiler checking stuff and I turned the system on and for some reason decided to tap the solenoid valve with my screwdriver and the bloody thing started up!!

I may buy a spare just in case!! Sorry Gaslow for doubting you!!!

Don't use an autochanger, much prefer to know when a bottle (I've got two) has run out so I can plan accordingly. Yes it always runs out at inconvenient times but I'd rather that than find myself with no gas and no warning.

And it's something else to go wrong. I'm a great fan of the KISS theory.
I would rather have a auto changeover why…….. if the gas runs out on one bottle it will save you going outside to manually change over.

You know ruffle when the gas is going to go through usage and the auto changeover saves hassle but it’s up to an individual what to use.

We've got auto changeover but I don't use it. I leave one cylinder off so I know when we've used half the gas supply, I can estimate then when we need to go and fill up 👍

While ever there is liquid LPG in either of the bottles the pressure won't drop much, it's more related to temperature.
Exactly. The pressure before the regulator will directly vary with temperature. According to my memory, even at 0°C it is about 1.5 bar. Propane has a boiling point at standard pressure of about -43°C

Yep, lost me at hello there!!!

Oh and as soon as I fix everything in the van, I'm bloody selling it!! I'm too knackered and too skint to go away in it!!!!!!!

Sorry

Rest assured that with the red cylinders or using refillable in this country you will have no lack of pressure assuming that the regulator works ok. If there is any liquid at all in the cylinder, even a tiny amount, you will have the same pressure as if it were full. I spent about 10 years working with liquid gases on ships and ashore

Cool, that's really useful to know thanks

Have you got any error codes on the control panel? If we try to put our Truma on gas (not Alde) without turning the gas on it has a hissy fit and we have to clear the code on the panel before we can light it.

Lol, took it out today and the sodding wipers wouldn't work!!

Had to get the pins re soldered!

I swear this is a clown car in disguise. I'm just waiting for the next thing to fly off or break!!!

cut a potato on half run it over the windsreen and it will help disperse the water it help to create droplets like car wax does

I have a strange feeling that because the bottles are linked, its dropping the pressure sufficiently for the alde to have a hissy fit.
Propane 'boiling' pressure at this time of year is around 5 bar.
Your regulator reduces that to 50mb.
If the bottle pressure was 1bar jointly between bottles it would still work the same.
