I didn't pass my driving test till 2001 so don't have automatic entitlement to drive. Anything over 3500kg.
Has anyone taken the test to drive a bigger rig?
Where I live (Evesham) there are lots of haulage firms so most of the training and assumed route for learning is on commercial vehicles rather than in a moho.
I'm interested in finding out if its possible to get training and learn for the test without having to do all the commercial related stuff.
TIA

I believe it is possible if you explain its not for business or employment purposes.
Look for driving schools as most are nothing more than booking agents who couldn't give a monkeys where they send you once they have your money.

If you're in the Midlands try http://www.dataacademy.co.uk/

Something like this is probably what you are looking for. Many training venues offer courses in 1/2 day sessions providing some flexibility in terms of cost and how quickly you pick up the techniques. You do not need CPC unless using a vehicle for commercial purposes.
