Sideways bike trailer

You can also get a single wheel trailers that take the load but you don't need to worry when reversing.

Sorry, can't help with a UK dealer, but they're a hell of a price and you need your tow bar modifying to take two ball hitches.

You’re not wrong about the price!

For a third of that and bit of reversing practice there’s an IFor Williams that would take 2/3 motorcycles or a quad. Okay, it’s not as compact and is going to add to the length/cost if going on a ferry, but will have many other uses as well.

Have a look at this one

I had one from this company to tow a scooter. I sold it last year (nearly got my money back after 3 years)

What I would point out is that they’re almost impossible to reverse due to the comparative length of trailer v motorhome. The trailer just Jackknifes immediately as the big crack in my bumper will testify!

They’re great if you know where you’re going: familiar sites etc and are confident you won’t need to reverse. For touring in unfamiliar locations though we found it too stressful, knowing if stuck we’d need to unhitch and wheel it back. (Not too heavy but you wouldn’t be able to shove it uphill).

There are more expensive ones with a fixed pívot which turns with the vehicle. If I got another, I’d look into that. If you go for it though, Armitages are a well known firm- I know people travel there from all over U.K.

Remorque is simply the word for trailer in French.

There are many variants of the unit you seek and they most certainly do not all need two tow balls and tow bar modifications.
Cheap they are not but many available in France
One such here https://www.univers-remorques.fr/remorque-porte-moto-transversale-camping-car/
If really interested have a look on the Broken Link Removed site for second hand ones and come over and have a holiday as well.

Oh and some have a castor type system of wheel attachment which means they reverse with no stress.
