Has anyone replaced ONLY THE exterior temperature sensor fiat ducato 2015

I believe it’s in the mirror and fiat professional say we have to change the whole mirror at £400+vat

nearside mirror on a panel van or coachbuilt or under the van on an A class. The part costs under £15 on ebay and 2 wires to connect. Either take the mirror casing apart and fit it in there or bypass it

On Euro6 (post 2020?), isn't the temp sensor in the mirror an essential source feed for dpf regeneration etc?

The worst that can happen when your taking the mirror apart is breaking the mirror. To get to the inside the mirror unclips from a circular mount. You really need a broad puller to pull it off the mount. There is a technique to do it without breaking the mirror . Check any uvtube vids you can find con the net .they are very informative

Not in the mirror, ours is on the chassis front member being an A class but I used one of the £9.99 ones off eBay on our 2014 Fiat based Hymer.
I just cut off the old sensor and replaced it with the £9.99 one, it’s been absolutely fine since (July 23) I bought a spare to carry just in case but haven’t needed it.
I’d be taking the mirror apart and if the old one can’t be got at just get to the wiring and attach the new one, drilling a new hole for it.

On our A class the temp sensor stopped working about 4 years and 25,000 miles ago, does not seem to have affected anything. Having read here how easy it is to replace will buy one from e-bay and change it.

I'm beginning to lose faith in all garages atm, they only seem to view motorhomes as a cash cow.
Their solution to everything is just connect it to a computer and throw parts at it until they get lucky.
A good mechanic is worth their weight in gold.

As yet for Ducatos i havent seen any thing that confirms this.
See #17

For OP get a replcement sensor and tape it to the inside door skin . Remove the window control panel to acess connections and door skin. The grey 2 pin connector is the one you are after.
